This course is an entry level programme that will provide an understanding of the principles for working with children and young people
We provide learners with all the knowledge and skills that potential employers and organisations that work with children, young people and families look for in their employees and volunteers. The course is delivered in a relaxed, supportive and informal manner by our trainers.
Who is this course for?
This course is suited to those completely new to the children's workforce and those already involved in it, who want to improve their knowledge to underpin their work, such as:
School support staff
Parents and carers
Those leaving the armed forces
People looking to volunteer or gain employment in the charity sector
Those running community groups
Those looking to work in the childcare sector
What's included?
This course is taught by two highly experienced tutors. Group sizes are kept small to make sure that all learners have the opportunity to ask questions and get the most possible from the course.
Learners will also receive a certificate of attendance and a pack of resources to take away.
‘The Place team found the training with Brightsparks to be really thought-provoking and coherent. It gave the team the space to workshop and consider a wide range of scenarios and reinforced confidence in our own skills and instincts. We were encouraged to discover our own solutions and already the ideas and strategies we developed are generating improvements to the sessions and services we deliver to our community of young people’.
